Wire management in Raheja...

There is a need to organize the wiring of telephone, cable internet etc at the basement. Right now there's no route-plan for the wires.

We need a lineman employed to take care of the new wiring that can happen at the basement.

Drop off boxes for various bills etc...

As suggested by Ashok (C block) we need to explore the idea of installing drop off boxes for well known credit card, broadband, phone etc to make it easy for the residents.

Some of them are Citibank, Standard Chartered etc.

Raheja directory...

I have compiled a listing at http://rahejaresidency.tripod.com. This listing contains women who are service providers within Raheja. If this listing is published on paper and distributed it will prove useful to the residents.

Options:
1) Leave a laminated copy at all the block securities and the club house. Cost can be shared by a couple of volunteers.(Done).

2) Take 800 copies and distribute it to the residents. Cost needs to be shared between all the service providers. Sheela's (H block) initial estimate is Rs.1600, roughly 2Rs a sheet.

Issues:
How often should this listing be updated?
How do we work out the costing each time?
Can we get sponsors for this? (for eg., Leo packers)
Should we charge the residents a nominal amount?

Organize children's classes within Raheja....

We should be bring in resource persons to organize various classes within Raheja. Most moms agree going out of Raheja is not so much desirable because of the commute. The more we bring the resource persons here, the better is for the community. Of course, we will still have to seek outside for a football court.

The Apex body expects 20% of the total collection to be paid to them, for using the common resources of the clubhouse.

Manohar/Lalina of The Mental Arithmetic academy will start classes in the Raheja residency clubhouse starting April. The classes will be held every Sunday at 4:00PM.

We're also talking to Nita who is eager to start her "Foundation for life" program in Raheja. It will target kids aged 3 to 10 tolearn thinking skills in Math. It will be based on a self-learning program where worksheets are given. It will be 20 minutes thrice a week.

Browsing center within Raheja....

A section of people who I interact with don't seem to have access to the net. Creating a browsing center within Raheja will help them browse and access their mails. It also saves one to maintain a computer, pay broadband charges etc.

Children's reading club ....

Considering the amount of books each of us have, we should be able to start off a pooled resource of books within Raheja for children.

Green club for Raheja...

This is one way of introducing Civic awareness among children. This may help us keep Raheja clean from the wrappers thrown around by children. We have the training material from Civic awareness for Children from the Public Affairs center. Need volunteers to adapt the material and run the show in Raheja.

Also exploring the possibility of starting Bala Janagraha in Raheja.

Concierge help desk for Raheja....

We need to create a concierge desk in Raheja (Ganesh Sivam's idea). This will help the residents get some of the services done within the complex instead of stepping out. We have got quotations from Les concierges and Superseva.

Compost pit in Raheja....

If only we could have some sort of a recyling place for organic waste in Raheja.... Most often, I feel guilty of dumping organic waste in the dustbin. The manure created in the pit, can inturn feed the plants in Raheja.

E-community in Raheja....

I've created an egroups for Raheja residency. Need to promote it and make people use it. Egroups is a perfect way to share information. We can even create commonly used data (frequently used helpline numbers, yellow pages of Raheja etc) as databases in the egroup. Janaki (D block) gave me an initial list of useful numbers that she had compiled. Deepa (G block) has added more numbers to that. Still some formatting needs to be done on that before we can publish it.

The link to the egroups is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rahejaresidency.

The first step is to use the egroups to disseminate information pertaining to the residents. Some of the ideas can be:

1) Events at the clubhouse every weekend
2) Cultural committee happenings
3) Info pertaining to special interest groups, if any
4) Dates of property tax etc
5) Any new Apex body regulations
